The label below shows A but the thing is during the warranty period the motherbord was replace and a new one was put in. I bought the Laptop second hand and had to reinstall XP mainly because it was so full of crap. Under Sound and audio devices it just shows generic drivers, codecs etc. Edit there is no specific setting in bios to enable disable sound.

I am unable to work without audio. All drivers used were downloaded from the Toshiba website only for Xp. To join the discussion, please login or register. Posted October 19, edited. I’ve downloaded and installed all the drivers for this model from the Toshiba site including the Audio and bios toshina. I have tried downloading and installing the correct HD audio drivers as toshiba a100 sound in many places.

I have downloaded the file and will try it later when I get back home. I do not have the recovery or driver CD and there does not seem to be any other partition on the drive. Edit tishiba is no specific setting in bios to enable disable sound. I have now installed XP and am unable to restore my audio.

Looks like I’ll have to just do without sound, toshiba a100 sound that will of course reflect on the resale value when I decide to get another Laptop. I have checked the settings in the sound and audio devices as well as the Realtek effect manager in the control panel I checked for errors in the device manager.
Checked that windows audio service is on The message toshiba a100 sound get in the properties window is souund “Device Cannot start” Kindly help.
